SCDK Ch 27 released!

So, first business.  I just watched David Suchet Poirot in the Murder on the Orient Express episode of the Poirot series on Netflix.  SO GOOD!  My life will never be the same.

Second, my Patreon backers got this chapter 2 days ago.  I was too tired last night to do all the editing and reposting for release for all the free readers.  I’m actually not regretful on keeping you folks waiting this time.  I was really tired after all.

Third, there are only a few more chapters in Book 1 of Stop Calling Me A Demon King.  Once book 1 is finished I will be taking a break from SCDK to get caught up on some other projects I have been keeping people waiting for.  There is actually a very ground breaking contest in the works waiting for me to get off my duff and write the short story that will be the catalyst for it.  So, I need to get on it.  The projects have been in hang fire for over 6 months now.  I will not be leaving you guys high and dry though.  I’ve introduced enough side characters that I can do some Extra Chapters about them, and that is in addition to Maoujanai High.  Updates will be infrequent however, so I honestly recommend subscribing to the channel to not miss them.

Fifth, after I start on Book 2, I will be altering my Patreon Rewards so that backers no longer get only a 24 hour pre-access to my chapters, but they get a permanent 1 chapter pre-access.  Which means Book 2 Ch. 1 will be a Patreon Exclusive until I write and release Chapter 2, and so on in sequence.  This is not a paywall.  All chapters become available to free readers in time.  It’s just that Backers are giving me money, and they should get a real reward.  And other super talented writers are keeping three chapters exclusive at a time and the like, so I feel my 1 chapter is rather lenient.  This set up is subject to change if I feel it need tweaking, however

Sixth… is anyone actually still reading this?

HAVE A HAPPY!

SCDK Extra Ch 6 released

Nothing funny to say right now.  I was sick and couldn’t write more than one perspective, so I used it as a chance to write Ex Ch 6.  I originally planned to write it after ch 29, but plans change.

Also, because of various reasons this is being released to all people at the same time.  This is a one off event because I feel like crap and don’t want to go through the guilt of holding back on 99% of my readership.

Should I expand the time that Patreon backers get preliminary access to my chapters?  I saw one guy who is doing a 3 weeks advance screening for patreon backers.  But that kinda feels like too much.  At what point does advanced screening go from rewards for backers to punishment for free readers?  I’d like your opinions.

SCDK Chapter 26 Released!

Just to let you know, SCDK 26 was originally finished and released yesterday, but Patreon Backers get a one day advanced showing of every chapter.

So, what a Super Bowl, right?  I would have missed the best stuff if I hadn’t come up for air from my writing.  And yeah, I spent the entire day on my writing.  It was the first second day off I’d had in a row from work in over two weeks and I made the most of it to give you guys high quality (?) fiction to enjoy.  So, enjoy.

TOUCHDOWN!

Super Bowl Special

The backstage area of Stop Calling Me A Demon King went nuts as the last play of the game occurred, a game that was decided by inches.  Members of the 78th platoon splashed beer all over each other, a plate of nachos went flying, and Callic bodily lifted Iyleen up, planting a sloppy kiss on her lips before they remembered they were pretending that they were not a couple.

As the hollering began to subside, Aase remarked to Xander, “I didn’t know if I’d like an American Football game, but that was incredible!”

“I know,” replied Xander in an unnecessary shout.  “The Patriots were made fools of by bad plays and bad luck for almost the entire game, and then they made that recovery, despite a missed extra point, some miraculous saves, and a two point conversion that was nearly stopped cold!  The Patriots had the good luck to get the ball in Over Time, the first Super Bowl Over Time EVER!  Then, then that last drive and that final play!  It was like fate itself was tampering with every part of the game, beginning to end!  God that was awesome!”

Then Chaz in his fancy burgundy suit walks into the slowly calming room speaking on a cell phone from the 80’s that looked like a plastic brick saying, “Oh, I’m just glad you’re happy with the final result, Roger.  And yes, I’m willing to wait until tomorrow for the payment.  Enjoy the after parties.”

With a beep, Chaz hung up the phone and then dropped it.  The phone dissolved into smoke that disappeared into the air.  Chaz flopped down on a seat on a couch that was improbably vacant and reclined, saying, “Nothing like a good day’s work.”

“Chaz?  What are you doing here?” asked Xander.

“And who was that on the phone?” continued Aase.

“Oh, that was Roger Godell, the President of the NFL.  His people promised this would be the best game ever and he wanted to make sure it really was.”

Xander’s face blanched and it looked like he’d just laid an egg.  It took a few moments for Xander’s shock to subside before asking, “Chaz?  Did you have a hand in this Super Bowl?”

Chaz turned to look Xander in the eyes, and silently smiled.
